There was a theory developed by Scientist Melinda Zeder that points to the development of human culture is what led humans to agriculture. This study was based on early farmers based 10,000 B.P. (“Before the Present”), and it reveals that agriculture began ” associated with radical restructuring of human societies, worldwide alterations in biodiversity, and significant changes in the Earth’s landforms and its atmosphere,” the author quotes. The main goal was to be less nomadic and create food closer to home rather than hunting.

Humans began undertaking agriculture because it created a much easier way of life the having to go out and hunt for food as well as following the food source around. Agriculture created more food for the population. The domestication of plants of animals occurred when the first humans were in the process of transitioning out of being nomadic. Domestication of animals helped for hunting as well as protection and food (cows, goats, sheep, etc.). Domestication of plants helped people get plants and herbs even if they were scarce in the wild.

I believe human began undertaking agriculture because it provide them food and created a more comfortable way of living instead of constantly moving around from places to places, hunting down animals. Agriculture and farming, provide them plenty of food which help them fight hunger, the opportunity to settle down and build civilizations

Domestication of Plants and Animals is one theory that has been suggested for why humans began undertaking agriculture. The domesticated animals are a way of food, using animals to turn, plow the ground, settled agriculture they were able to plant grain & vegetables. By these two things they no longer had to roam for foods or travel long distances for meat. By domesticating plants and animals there was a surplus of food, so it transformed the profession of the early humans from hunting and gathering to selective hunting, herding and settled agriculture.

The Domestication theory, first introduced by various scholars says that humans first settled in particular areas where they were able to stay and practice the domestication of animals and plants. This changed their ways from hunter gathering patters to a food production way of life. The process of changing the characteristics of an organism to strictly depend on human care for reproductive success.

One theory humans started undertaking agriculture is to try and make gathering food easier for themselves by planting edible fruits and vegetables near their settlements. It also suggests that the humans wanted to stop being nomadic and settle down in one spot. When the former nomadic humans settled down, they domesticated animals to protect them and become food sources.

One theory which was suggested is the Domestication theory which was proposed by a group of scholars. It all started when humans begin to settle in specific geographical location where they abandon their nomadic ways of finding food and instead began practicing the cultivation of plants and the raring of animals. This lead to a surplus of food for families as this also prevented them from living as hunters gatherer. Two benefits include, more family time to reproduce and access to a lot of fresh food

The Oasis Theory is one theory that has been suggested for why humans began undertaking agriculture. It is the idea that people were forced to resort to domesticating plants and animals for climate change reasons.

One theory for why humans began undertaking agriculture was population pressure suggested by Lewis Binford. He believed humans were forced to become farmers if they wanted to survive. The increasing amount of humans forced people to acquire more food. Domestication of animals and plants were their best option.

One theory that has been suggested that for why human began undertaking agriculture is population pressure theory by Lewis Binford. According to him, the pressure over food collection is the main thing to adopt agriculture. Though there is successful evidence of food collection, Binford thinks, Human wouldn’t become farmer unless they had no other choice.

“What is one theory that has been suggested for why humans began undertaking agriculture (the domestication of plants and animals)?”

-Sometime around 12,000 years ago people began farming and a wild variety of crops, they were also known as hunter-gatherers. Breeding and herding animals for a number of resources became a part of life. Centuries later this became a way of life. There are many theories on why and how agriculture began and advanced including the oasis theory, demographic theory and the domestication theory.
